about us

who we are

On behalf of The Worshipful Master and St. George’s Lodge No. 15 we welcome you to our website. Throughout this site you will be able to learn about our illustrious history, our ongoing commitment to the community and upcoming events.

Freemasonry and more particularly St. George’s Lodge, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons No. 15 on the Grand Register of Canada, have been an integral part of the Niagara region and St. Catharines since the early 1800’s. Members of our Lodge have come from a wide variety of occupations and professions; from lawyers and doctors, politicians and business leaders, to musicians and chefs; these men have come together in the common bond of Brotherhood and strong moral principle of gentlemen, striving to make St. Catharines a better place.

This proud tradition of activity in the community continues today. Our programs include participation with the Breakfast program at St. Georges Anglican Church; a church that some of our original Brethren laid the foundation stone for in 1836 and financial donations to several local charities. Our most recent was the purchase of a paving stone in support of Branch 350 of the Canadian Legion, for the cenotaph located in Port Dalhousie.

When not at labour, we enjoy a very active social calendar. These activities include visiting other Lodges, golf tournaments, our annual St. Georges Chili Cook Off and Trivia Challenge and several formal dinner-dances in recognition of the special lady in our lives.
